I absolutely love Juliet. It was by far on of the best books I have ever read. It left me breathless with every twist and turn it makes and leaves me with a this paranoid feeling as to who Julie should or shouldn't trust. Amazing job and i hope to read more from you.

love.

Hi Anne! I'm currently in the middle of reading Juliet, and am loving it. I've already sent a copy to my grandmother (an avid reader) and posted the book as a recommendation to my Facebook friends. You've made me a new fan! I can't wait to read all your work.

Your prose is so sharp and gorgeous (I even refer to it in my little blog entry today - http://writerscorner-traci.blogspot.com/2011/02/put-me-to-shame.html). Thank you for making me want to be a better writer! All the best with your future successes!

I have been listening to the audio book version as my commute to and from work is exactly one cd long. It has been torture! Thanks so much for the agony.

Dear Anne, just yet I finished reading your book and I'm very amazed! I'm from Berlin but actually read it in English. I love your book! What it all includes is fantastic. And it's so very true that from now you'll see the story of Romeo and Juliet in a quite different way! So thanks a lot for this great book and the special time while reading it! I'm very looking forward to your next work :) Best wishes Josephine

Dear Anne, I'm Beatrice from Catania in Sicily (Italy)!
I bought and read your book 3 months ago, and I was really impressed by it, cause I liked the way that you've described Siena and the love story of "Romeo and Juliet".
I'm one of your fan and I just wanna know if you did some other book, cause I really love the way that you write :).
Best Wishes Beatrice.

Dear Anne,
I bought Juliet a week ago. You could say that I came upon it by chance or destiny... For I had not heard about the book (or you) before, I just happened to picked it out of the shelf at the bookstore and I just had to buy it... Needless to say this is perhaps the BEST book I've had the opportunity to read. The best part of which is the story. I love the way the book takes us back to 1340, then to the present like reading 2 stories at the same. It was pleasure to read!! I hope to see more of your work in the future. Best regards, -Alma.

Dear Anne,
I am still reading Juliet because I`ve just bought it, but I am really surprised by it. The story is wonderfull and I can`t stop reading it. I am from Brazil and I`m reading it in portuguese because when I discovered it, it had already been translated to my language. It´s wonderfull to see the old story in a different way. Thanks for the story.
Best wishes, - Fátima

Hello Anne! I just finished "Juliet" a couple of days ago and was blown away by the story and characters! I literally could not put the book down! I love how your characters are so realistic, unique, and lovable! The story had such a perfect blend of drama, humour, tragedy, and suspense! I would love to read another novel of yours! Thank you so much for a wonderful read!
Kind regards, Janey (Canada)

Phenominally written, thank you. My parents, now living in Montreal, Québec, were born in Italy, and I have returned several times in my young 40 years. Siena is one of my favorite cities in the world and you helped me witness it in the 14th century. I pray this novel becomes a film as I am certain of its blockbuster potential...not to mention needing my fix of Mr Marescotti and Mrs Tolomei. Your character depth was refreshing and I often fought myself off from imagining where you were going with the plot. I look forward to reading your other books. Mille grazie per questo capolavoro

First, I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying JULIET; it is hard to put down! That being said, I just wanted to mention something I noticed: On page 256, Nino's reference to PARIS--is that not a blooper? Was not Paris a creation of Wm. Shakespeare--as you mentioned in the book--a couple hundred years later?
Thank you for an intriguing story! Again, I am loving this book!!

"Julia" was truly the best book I've ever read. I read in less than 3 days because the story of the "modern" Romeo and Julia just drew me in its spell. And it is written so wonderfully exiting, so I didn't miss a thing in this book. Thank you Anne Fortier for that and I look forward to many, many more stories from you!!!!

I just wanted to say how much I absolutely LOVED Juliet! It has officially gone on my list of my favorite books. I loved all the little details and how you incorporated real historical people and places into the story. Aside from being a lover of Romeo and Juliet, I've been going to Italy every summer since I was a little girl and reading this book made me feel like I was there again. Next time I go to Italy, I want to go to Siena and visit all the places from the book! This book would be AMAZING as a movie!! I look forward to more novels!

P.S - Please do a book signing in new york city! :-)

Anne: Loved Juliet. Of course, I have more than a passing interest. My mother's maiden name was Tolomei. All my life I have heard the stories of Siena and the feuds of the Salembenis and the Tolomeis. More important was the influence of St. Catherine of Siena on the Tolomeis. I was so happy to visit this lovely city twice: once in 1984 and again in 2006. I had changed but this lovely city has not. Happy that you told its story. Warm regards, Mary Lou Reed

I loved Juliet. I gave it out as Christmas presents this past year and I recommend to anyone that asks about a good read. I even recommend it to strangers that I see standing before a rack of books looking for a good read. Looking forward to your next book!

I can't exactly express in words, how much I loved your book. I am quite sad that I have finished reading it and hence I cannot spend time with them anymore. I really wish I could meet these people. Too bad they don't exist. But your creation holds enough magic in it to just rest with that much. May be it happened, they really came back. Who knows. But anyway, I would love to watch it happening. Atleast in a movie. Keep it up. Much love...

May 9, 2012 | Unregistered Commentershuvra

It feels so good to know that the movie is going to be made. I don't know how James Mangold will make them look like but if he can keep the magic that u created, it's going to be a masterpiece.

I'm from Taiwan. I just want to tell you that Juliet is a fantastic novel. I appreciate for the awesome work. I was empty when I finished reading, the book is too incredible to be ended. The relationships between sisters, lovers, and all the secrets, they really made me enchanted. I am full with expectation hoping you could write the sequel for Romeo and Juliatta.

Anne,
I taught 7th and 8th grade history and English. I would take my 8th grade student to see Romeo and Juliet after I taught it to them. I left teaching and went into business. I just finished Juliet and I have been to Siena and Italy many times. I LOVED THE BOOK! You nailed it! I am buying a copy for my 2 daughters and daughter-in-law. I can't wait to get back to Siena to see the Palio and stay at the Hotel Chiusarelli. Thanks for the read and the history.

It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you.
