Incredible novel! Your book is one of the most intriguing historical novels I have read. Please tell me you are working on another one right now--I can hardly wait for your next work. And thanks to your mom for the companion pictures of Siena on your website. Please publish again soon!

Anne,
Juliet mesmerized me with non stop reading only to end too soon. I look forward to your next novel. I loved the sister connection for I have 2 daughters that have a similar relationship. The younger one in high school aspires to be a writer. I am only sorry I missed your book signing in Oconomowoc, WI. We were out of town. I would love to have a hard copy signed by you. I loved the historical references added to romance and adventure, as well as reuniting me with Shakespeare. Thank you for taking me to Siena!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful novel. I loved the Shakespeare works within the novel, the depth of the historcial atmosaphere, and taking us on sensational journey to Sienna.
Your writing has inspired me to join a creative writing class. I look forward to reading your next page turner for more inspiration.

I found your book in our family bookstore and fell into it on the first page. It is a wonderful tapestry of history, literature, and mystery! Thank you for the time you spent penning Juliet and for the research your mother and you undertook to bring it to our shelves!

I just finished your book last night! Loved it!! I took a Shakespeare class in college and have always loved Romeo and Juliet - my daughter's middle name was inspired by her. I have seen Juliet's balcony in Verona, and have also visited Siena, so it was a delight to read your novel and it compels me to learn more about this beautiful town and visit it again one day. I would love to see your book in film, and look forward to your next novel...hopefully in the near future!

Hey Ann! I've got to say that has been years since I enjoyed a book this much. I couldn't put it down! Literally. I was lugging it around in my purse for three days! hahaha. Anyway Juliet will forever be in my ultimate favorites. Thank you so much for such an exquisit story!

May 9, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterChristina

I've always had a curious fascination with Shakespeare's classic, and being only fifteen, (sixteen in two weeks!) the former has turned me into an utter hopeless romantic! "Juliet" has made me wander around in corridors at school with a blissful expression and snap at everyone insisting that they know the "real" story. And boy, do i have a lot of questions still! Thank You for making Juliet real to me.

Hi Ann, I loved Juliet, it's amazing! You could make a version of Romeo, I'm sure would be a success also!

I love your book Juliet! I purchased the book to read on the plane for my upcoming trip, however, once I started reading your book, I was instantly hooked, I think I might finish the book before I leave for my trip tomorrow! LOL
You have a wonderful writing style and I hope that you continue more books as Juliet in the future! It would be even better if your book was turned into a movie! Thanks again for the great book!

I have enjoyed reading "Juliet" so much. It was such bittersweet circumstance to finish reading the book. I was completely invested in the heroine, she was endearing and witty. I felt so eager to keep reading and I finished the book feeling very satisfied but very sad that it was all over. I told all my friends about "Juliet"! I can't wait to see it one day on the big screen. Cheers.

Hello,
This book was amazing and I was really impressed with the amount of detail you included in this novel. I was engrossed by this book and it is most definitely one of my favourite novels. Is there an English version of the "Pre-Shakespearean" Romeo and Juliet story? I would love to read it,if that possible. Your story has reiterate my own need to do some genealogy on my Italian roots. Thank you!

Hey,
I believe "Juliet" is my favourite novel of all time, I could definitely say that I´m in love with your book and if you ever decide to turn it into a movie I would be the first one to scream and shout. Juliet in my perspective would make an excellent movie because of the amazing trama and the precious details in it, so it would be amazing if you took that decision because I can´t be more addicted to your book. I hope you are proud of yourself because I definitely am very proud of you and of your brilliant novel, keep me posted in any new info of Juliet or books of your own. much love.

Greetings Ms Fortier …
I have been an avid reader all my life, enjoying a wide range of subjects – both fiction and non-fiction. Of the classic tragedies, Romeo and Juliet has always been a special favourite.
Your wonderful novel drew me in right from the start, and until the last page I was not tempted to skim, or look ahead – but rather, I lost myself completely in the two unfolding parallel stories. Then, when I had finished, I did something I have rarely, if ever, done before. I turned back to the beginning and read it right through for a second time – to capture the beautiful word detail that often alludes one’s perception in first reading, when the story is yet unfamiliar.
I also enjoyed your Author’s Note and the story of your mother’s research – right down to the plague pit! I have since viewed the streets of Siena on Google Earth to get a visual feel for the surroundings.
Congratulations on your book’s success. It now occupies a special place in my library and I have enthusiastically recommended it to several friends. It is one of the best modern novels I have ever read, and I can’t wait for your next one! As an amateur writer myself, it really gives me something to aspire to!
Regards ... Shelley from Australia

Hi Anne,
I have just finished reading your book just now, even I have tears in my eyes.
I really love the play Romeo and Juliet, and I really love the way that you have transformated this beautiful legend into our days. I had no idea that had had its orign in Siena, and that really such a story would have really happened.
Your book has thrilled me very much, I really enjoyed reading it: the way you describe Siena, the love between Romeo and Giulietta, the rivalry between Tolomei and Salimbeni... It´s spectacular.
Thanks for a novel like this, and my sincere encouragement to you to continue to offer books like this.

Hi Anne,
I loved your book ... it's incredible!
This is the first time a book has made me mourn, laugh, feel fear and intrigue.
I think you've created the perfect book, in fact I'm sure it's the best book I've read. The story has everything one could want. Have you thought about making a movie about the book? Believe me it would be a success!! I love the book, actually I'm thinking i'll read it again. Thank you for an incredible book and I wish for an incredible film.

Hello! I'm from Spain and I'm 14. I think your book is amazing. It has everything, from mystery and action to differents feelings like love. I think that this novel is incredible, believe me. I've been waiting to read a novel like this a lot of time because you have mixed up the differents facts of a story that everybody want to read and specially me. Every novel I read, I think that shows and teaches me something about how to live my life and the thoghts of Juliet and everything happened (althought it sounds so absurd) had shown me a lot. And I'm going to give you an advice, like everybody think, you should make a film about the book, it will be very succesful and all your readers would be very pleased to you!
Undoubtedly, I'll buy your next book and I'm looking forward for it. Thank you so much about writing this book and read this comment. Congratulations! You can be proud of yourself.

Hello,
I first picked up your book in 2010 at a coles bookstore along with a few others, seeing as I was entering grade 11 I assumed we would have an independent reading assignment. Sadly, we did not, and because of my full schedule with school, work and sports I was unable to read it until this year. Grade 12, I finally had the chance to read a book in so long. I'm very happy I chose to read Juliet because it was an amazing, inspiring story! I loved it very much. I constantly pictured the book in my head just hoping that it will soon be turning into a movie. I hope it will! When your imagination comes to life it can be the most exciting thing in the world. You are a wonderful writer and I cannot wait to read more of your books!

Kind regards,
Brianna

Hi Anne, First of all I just really want to say thank you. Thank you for writing this amazing novel Juliet. It was such a pleasure to finally pick up a novel that captured my interest right from the first page. I've always loved Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet while growing up and your modern version of the story just makes me love it even more. I have just finished reading your book this evening and I was actually sad that I did. Of course I am going to read it again, but just turning that last page was hard cause I enjoyed reading it that much. I was so intrigued by it , that even when I went to sleep, I would dream about the characters and the events I had just read that evening and try and solve the mystery....lol. Also just like some of the other postings on here, I do agree that if you were able to make Juliet into a movie, I am so there to watch it. Thank you again for writing Juliet

Dear Anne, To say that I absolutely loved your Juliet would be an understatement! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! Your writing is perfectly executed--a concise, lyrical, and engaging masterpiece. Your gifted ability to provide detail and substance within the backdrop of this timeless story made each chapter a delight. Your character portrayal breathed life into each one as the layers of the saga unfolded. I loved that you dedicated the book to your mother--what a blessing to have her as a guiding undercurrent. Juliet has all the elements to make a marvelous movie, sure hope someone is thinking along those lines.....Thank you for your gift to us. I look forward with anticipation to your next endeavor. Anne, I just started listening to your book on Audio CD's because I am at work and listening helps me pass the time. I saw your book in our local library and I read the back of it and was instantly in love! I started listening to it, now I sit at work getting more work done than ever because I am zoned in on the story! I listen to it every single chance I can. I have not yet finished it, but I had to come look at your website. This book has so far inspired me to do greater things. I am currently in love with a man that takes my breathe away and this book has made me realize he is much like Romeo. I have truly found my Romeo in this world, and I hope this book makes all the other women in this world realize that they too can find their Romeo! Thank you for the most beautiful book that is now my favorite! From Indiana!

Dear Anne. I'm a spanish boy. I want give you a thousand of thanks for Juliet. It's a treasure. The story of Romeo and Giulietta, always I like it. But you do an amazing story. The combination past and present, the connection of the characters are a masterpiece. I stayed in Siena one summer, and read about this very beautiful city it's like to be there and walk around her streets of stone, and sit down in the Piazza del Campo. Romance, history, action... really a perfect work, a perfect book. I wait that you can understam my very bad english, excuse me please. Thank you very much. Greetings from Spain.

Hello Anne! I'm Julia from Austria. I'm very lucky that I live so close to Italy so I am going to visit Siena next year. But it feels like I lived there my whole life just because of your book. Thank you! 'Juliet' (or 'Julia' here in Austria) is the only book, which I love to read every single day. I feels like Giulietta is the same person as I am and I'm so thankful that you gave me such a wonderful story and inspiration. I try to write a own story but it isn't so easy as I thought it would be. Another thanks for being a rolemodel! Much love from Austria :)

It has been such a long time since I have read a book this amazing. Not since Guy Gavriel Kay's 'Under Heaven' and Barbara Kingsolver's 'Prodigal Summer' has a book captured my complete attention. I was absorbed in Juliet for several days (when there were many other things requiring my urgent attention!). Thank you so much for writing this book. You are very gifted in your craft.

What a delicious, devilish and delightful read. Long a fan of Shakespeare & his Romeo & Juliet, I was as much captivated by the history of his work, as by its continued development in contemporary times. I finished the book in 2 days flat and immediately embarked upon a reread, for it is just too exquisite to end. I look forward to your future works.
